Emilio curses the child Celestina is bearing, not knowing that the child is actually his own.
When Celestina gives birth, her sister, Agatha, was shocked to see a cat-looking baby. Agatha replaced the child of Celestina with a normal child. Celestina raises Chloe, the normal baby girl, as her own and the cat-looking baby grows up as Felina.
Felina suffers severe cruelty at the hands of her adoptive family as they use Felina’s cat-like appearance in the carnival to earn money. And so, Felina grows up amidst suffering and oppression, realizing that because of being different, the hardest is to be loved and accepted by people that matters most.
